Overpayment Recovery

The Ontario government is to be applauded for reversing welfare's child support clawback regime. Yet we must remember that the regime was an institutionalized program of targeted, gender-based harassment on a genocidal scale (see "It's the Law!"). It made deserving "persons in need" ineligible for assistance. It prevented fathers from financially supporting their illegitimate children. It perpetuated and entrenched negative stereotypes and outcomes related to single motherhood. So ... how robust is this policy reversal?
